Very brambly, rich and attractive tobacco, red and dark fruit and wild herbs. The palate has richness and an attractive feel with great core flesh and balance. The combination of quality, good value and accessibility here make this quite unique.
Golden color and a characteristic nose with hints of yellow, exotic fruit, wax, toast and spices. The palate is full-bodied, the attack sweet and evolving into aromas of fruit, spice and honey with unique notes of botrytis. Very harmonious with a good balance sugar acidity and a liquorous material without excess.
Decent depth, varietal flavor, well-managed tannins—all present and accounted for here. There’s a mix of red and blue berries, and a wash of wet stone adding texture to the mouthfeel. The finish falls a bit short, but that’s what separates it from the pricier bottles.
Ruby red in color with a heady bouquet of cherries, plums and violets. Flavors burst on the scene with lots of cherry, leather and tobacco nuances. Supple with a good finish, allowing it to work well with red sauced pastas, pork loins in a brown gravy, turkey meatloaf and simple grilled fish dishes
