Wine style Riesling is without question Germany’s favorite grape. There is a lot of scope for versatility with this sweet, viscous wine, though you can expect to get hints of tropical fruit, nectarine, melon and pineapple from a solid Riesling.
Ruby red in color with a heady bouquet of cherries, plums and violets. Flavors burst on the scene with lots of cherry, leather and tobacco nuances. Supple with a good finish, allowing it to work well with red sauced pastas, pork loins in a brown gravy, turkey meatloaf and simple grilled fish dishes
Decent depth, varietal flavor, well-managed tannins—all present and accounted for here. There’s a mix of red and blue berries, and a wash of wet stone adding texture to the mouthfeel. The finish falls a bit short, but that’s what separates it from the pricier bottles.
