Decent depth, varietal flavor, well-managed tannins—all present and accounted for here. There’s a mix of red and blue berries, and a wash of wet stone adding texture to the mouthfeel. The finish falls a bit short, but that’s what separates it from the pricier bottles.
Deep ruby in color, the nose offering up baked black plum, blackcurrant and black cherry fruit to begin, fleshing out to leather, graphite and cast-iron pan with red cherries and chocolate notions. Medium to full-bodied, it’s classically styled in the mouth, with a firm frame of chewy tannins and a long, refreshing finish.
The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay combine to produce a fresh, fruity nose with almond and white flower aromas. Full and generous in the mouth, N°21 epitomizes a lovely harmony between freshness and fruit.
